For nearly two thousand years, the Church has been drifting — not in a sudden collapse, but in a long, deliberate fall. The same spirit that entered through Rome’s throne still whispers from today’s pulpits. The great “falling away” didn’t end in history — it’s reaching its final stage right now.
📖 Missed Part One?
Before diving into this powerful continuation, make sure you’ve seen Part One —
“America’s Jesus — The Hidden History They Tried to Bury!”.
It lays the foundation for everything revealed in this documentary and shows how politics replaced the Holy Spirit long before the modern Church was born.
THE PEACE THAT DECEIVED
When Emperor Constantine issued the Edict of Milan in 313 A.D., he promised peace to the persecuted Church. For the first time, believers could worship openly without fear of imprisonment or death. It seemed like the answer to every prayer. But behind the promise of peace was the seed of corruption.
The Church that once walked in the power of the Holy Spirit now found itself walking in the shadow of the empire. The Cross was no longer a symbol of suffering — it became a banner of conquest. In the name of “peace and safety”, faith began to bow to politics, and truth began to serve power.
“While they are saying, ‘Peace and safety!’ then destruction will come upon them suddenly like labor pains upon a woman with child, and they will not escape.”
— 1 Thessalonians 5:3 (NASB 1995)
THE COUNCIL THAT CHANGED EVERYTHING
Only a decade later, Constantine summoned the bishops to Nicaea (325 A.D.). On the surface, it was a council to resolve the Arian controversy about the nature of Christ. But for the first time, an emperor presided over the Church. What had been a movement led by apostles and prophets became entangled with a throne that sought imperial unity.
The Nicene Creed was adopted, and while its words confessed vital truths, the method introduced a deadly precedent: doctrine by decree. Constantine hosted, influenced the proceedings, and exiled dissenters. Bishops gained imperial favor, legal privileges, and political standing. Theology shifted from Scripture and Spirit to councils and commands — and the Church learned that unity could be achieved by force.
From that day forward, Christianity was no longer simply the faith of the crucified; it increasingly became the religion of the empire. The path from Nicaea leads straight to something darker: if emperors can define orthodoxy, they can also punish those who disagree. That pattern — truth by vote, unity by exile, peace by pressure — is the very engine that would drive the long falling away.
How it has panned out today: the same principle lives on whenever churches trade conviction for “unity,” muzzle Scripture to preserve coalitions, or treat dissent like treason. Whether through denominational politics, government leverage, or even algorithms that reward safe, crowd-pleasing messages, the pressure remains: comply to belong. The result is not holiness but homogeneity — a peace purchased at the price of truth.
THE EDICT THAT ENSLAVED
By 380 A.D., Emperor Theodosius I issued the Edict of Thessalonica. Christianity was now the official state religion of Rome. The empire no longer persecuted believers from without — it now punished them from within. For the first time, Christians persecuted Christians.
The government decided what was “orthodox.” Faith became law. And the same Church that once hid in caves now sat on thrones, crowned by emperors.
The prophecy was being fulfilled: when they said “peace and safety”, destruction had already begun — not of buildings or armies, but of truth itself and the souls who depended on it.
THE EMPIRE’S RELIGION
To maintain influence, Rome baptized paganism in Christian names.
- Temples were renamed as churches.
- Pagan feasts became “holy days.”
- Statues of gods were relabeled as saints.
- Idolatry returned — only now it wore a cross.
The faith that once called men to repentance now called them to ritual. The fire of the Spirit was replaced by the smoke of incense. And through it all, the Church gained wealth, land, and political favor — but lost the one thing that made it alive: the presence of God.
“They went out from us, but they were not really of us; for if they had been of us, they would have remained with us; but they went out, so that it would be shown that they all are not of us.”
—1 John 2:19 (NASB 1995)
THE MODERN ECHO
That same spirit still lives today. It has traded the Roman throne for the stage lights of the modern pulpit. The empire’s religion has been reborn as celebrity Christianity.
- Mega-church empires that measure success in numbers, not souls.
- Prosperity preachers who promise blessings without repentance.
- Social-media prophets chasing followers instead of truth.
The serpent’s voice hasn’t changed — it still whispers “peace and safety, comfort and prosperity.” But it still destroys truth … and it still devours souls. It comes now through sermons that never confront sin, songs that glorify self more than the Savior, and prophecies that soothe rather than sanctify.
The falling away was never a moment — it was a process. And we are now living at its end.
Christian Nationalism & the NAR: The Old Deception in a New Disguise
For centuries, empire learned to wrap power in religious language. Today, that same spirit appears again in Christian nationalism and movements commonly grouped under the NAR
(New Apostolic Reformation)—where political victory, cultural domination, and platform influence are presented as proofs of God’s favor.
The vocabulary is modern, but the pattern is ancient: power first, purity later.
In this model, the Church slowly exchanges the leadership of the Holy Spirit for the levers of the state,
and the preaching of repentance for the promise of influence. The mission becomes “take the mountains” more than “take up the cross” (Luke 9:23). What begins as a call to engage the world can become an attempt to rule it—until the gospel is trimmed to fit a political agenda and success is measured in followers, votes, and virality.
“Jesus answered, ‘My kingdom is not of this world…’”
— John 18:36, NASB 1995
The danger is not passion for righteousness—Scripture commands it. The danger is confusing the Kingdom with a kingdom, and equating spiritual authority with earthly control. When movements promise peace, safety, prosperity, and national glory while downplaying repentance, holiness, and the narrow way, the old deception is simply wearing new clothes.
This is why discernment matters. The early Church lost her way when empire sat on the altar. Today, the same compromise can enter through platforms, politics, and personalities. The remnant must remain clear:
Christ reigns—without our thrones; His Church overcomes—without the world’s machinery.
THE REMNANT THAT WILL NOT BOW
Yet even now, a remnant remains. They will not bow to the idols of popularity or politics. They still hunger for holiness. They still love truth more than comfort. And they still know that our King is not of this world.
“Jesus answered, ‘My kingdom is not of this world. If My kingdom were of this world, then My servants would be fighting so that I would not be handed over to the Jews; but as it is, My kingdom is not of this realm.’”
— John 18:36 (NASB 1995)
The courage of the remnant is the courage of exile-born faith — the same steel we see in Babylon when a golden image towered over a captive people and demanded worship.
“Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-nego replied to the king, ‘O Nebuchadnezzar, we do not need to give you an answer concerning this matter. If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the furnace of blazing fire; and He will deliver us out of your hand, O king. But even if He does not, let it be known to you, O king, that we are not going to serve your gods or worship the golden image that you have set up.’”
— Daniel 3:16–18 (NASB 1995)
This is the line we draw in our age: we will not bow — not to the golden statues of celebrity, not to the altars of political power, not to the algorithms that reward compromise. If deliverance comes, glory to God. If the fire rages, glory still — we will not serve their gods.
THE FINAL STAGE
We have arrived at the last stage of the long deception — the point where truth is optional, compromise is celebrated, and the name of Jesus is used to build kingdoms He never sanctioned.
The end of the falling away is not despair — it is the awakening of the faithful. The same Spirit that sustained the early Church through persecution is calling His people out again, saying:
“Therefore, ‘Come out from their midst and be separate,’ says the Lord. ‘And do not touch what is unclean; And I will welcome you.’”
— 2 Corinthians 6:17 (NASB 1995)
A FINAL WORD
History has come full circle. The Church once persecuted by Rome became Rome — and now the modern Church has become the empire once more. But the Kingdom of God is rising above it. The Cross will outlast the crown, and the truth will stand when the systems of men fall.
